Ramshot LRT Smokeless Powder 1 Lb
New to our Shooters and is the Ramshot Smokeless Powder. It has not been pulled from loaded ammunition and it is not military surplus powder. Every powder in the Ramshot family is double-based and spherical-shaped. Ramshot LRT, stands for Long Range Target, is targeted at 338 Lapua shooters. The burn rate is similar to Retumbo.

I use this in my 28 Nosler with 160 gr. Nosler Accubond and 160 gr Trophy Bonded Tip bullets. Velocity is at 3300 fps with close to 1/2 moa(.600) at 100 yards. Pretty much matches the Nosler Trophy 160 gr. Accubond factory ammo. “Yes” most definitely buy again. Especially right with a shortage of RL 33 access.

LRT is my first use of a Ramshot product and I’m impressed. Of the 3 powders I have for magnum rifle reloading, LRT gave me significantly higher velocities and sub minute of angle accuracy. It burns clean and meters very well. I’m a fan.

6.5 weatherby rpm
I bought this to try in the 6.5 weatherby rpm. Preliminary results is very promising. Accuracy and velocity have been above my expectations so far. This is a custom built rifle with 28 inches of barrel. I was able to reach 3400 fps with the barnes 127 LRX. Since load data is very scare for this cartridge, I started with 264 win mag (nosler data) and worked up.

Use it I’m 375 cheytac started at 135gr and went up from there. Very similar to retumbo of not exact match. Hard to find 8lb kegs though.

Good performance, meters well
I actually purchased my first 2 pounds of this stuff direct, when NO other slow burning powders were available. I’m shooting 338 Lapua, and this stuff works fine. Data are somewhat scant still, in terms of bullet selection at 338, and my results were surprisingly different than the vendor data. Overall, the powder shoots clean and consistent, and I was able to build consistent 1/2 MOA (at 200 yds) loads with 300 grain SMKs and Scenars. Not as much luck with Berger Hybrids but I believe that to be the bullets, really not better than 1 MOA. I usually use N570, and the LRT is MUCH finer grains. It was actually quite easy to trickle to within 0.02 gr on my electronic scale, which really isn’t possible with the much larger N570 kernels. And, the loads I built easily matched the velocities I liked with N570 (just over 2700, with no evidence of pressure signs). The only downsides I encountered were also functions of the really small grain size. Static was really noticeable. For the same reason, I suppose, clean up was a bit of a hassle. I usually use a Redding dropper to dump a charge close, and then trickle to final weight on my scale. Cleanup of both was WAY harder than with the extruded stick powders. I had to completely disassemble both to get all the tiny grains out. Typically not a big issue, but I was loading relatively small batches during load development, so it was something I noticed. Overall, fine product, and certainly more economical than the alternatives I like.
